Things To Keep In Mind Before Sizing Your Finger
Did you recently eat food that is high in sodium or drink any alcoholic beverages? Complete a killer workout? Body temperature running a little too hot or too cold? If any of these apply to you, it’s best not to size your finger and the moment. If you want to know how to find your ring finger size, you should avoid drinking alcohol the night before or eating foods that are high in sodium, or checking your ring size right after working out - all of which will cause your fingers to swell more than usual.
What Should I Use?
When it comes to sizing your finger, there are a few ways to go about ring size measuring. We sell a handy dandy and inexpensive ring sizer that is easy to use! If you need to size your finger asap, other alternatives include using a strip of paper or piece of string. All you have to do is cut the material of your choosing at about 4 inches and wrap it around your finger. From there, you will mark where the ends overlap and lay the piece of paper or string down next to a ruler to measure. You can find a conversion chart online that will give you your ring size.
Although this is the least recommended route when you want to measure ring sizes, as there can be wrong measurement, this would be an excellent option for people that do not have access to a ring. Our most recommended option is to use a ring sizer or having it professionally measured by your local jeweler.
How Do I Figure Out My Significant Other’s Ring Size?
Have you said to yourself, “how am I going to pull off a surprise proposal if I don’t know my significant other’s ring size”? Fear not, there are some simple solutions! A great place to start would be to ask those who know your special someone the best - friends and family. Maybe they have talked to each already about their ring size, or perhaps they gifted them a ring before and know their size. All you have to do is ask - problem solved!
Another option would be to borrow one of their rings. They are bound to have some lying around, so all you’ll have to do is (secretly) swoop one up! If their rings vary in size, the good thing is that you know it will fit on a finger. It may not be their ring finger but come the time of the proposal, you can rest easy knowing that it will fit at least one of them.
If you need the ring to be resized after the proposal, we got you covered! At our shop, we offer a free resizing within the first 3 months from when you received your ring. Contact us or stop by our studio - we are always happy to assist you!
