How to Clean Your Morganite Engagement Ring

How to Clean Your Morganite Engagement Ring

Sparkly pink gems, we love the sound of that! What do we not love? Dirty gems. Not to worry though Rosettes, we’re going to give you all the tips and tricks to keep your morganite ring looking fabulous!

Care

When it comes to your morganite ring, care is key! Morganites are delicate gems. Not only that, they are notorious for becoming a tad dirty. Your stone can become cloudy but there are solutions to fix that!

Removing your ring before partaking in any physical activity that can harm it is a must. Exercising, washing your hands, heavy lifting are just a few of the many activities that can damage your ring. Who wants a damaged ring? Not us of course!

Another thing to avoid is applying pressure to your ring. The more pressure you apply, the greater the chance that your stone will become loose, chip, or your band can become misshapen. We want your piece to last as long as possible!

How Often to Clean

For cleaning, we strongly recommend that you have your ring that was purchased from our shop cleaned every 3-6 months. Whether you want to send it in or drop by our shop, we’re always happy to help!

We will clean off any buildup and tighten your stones to make sure everything is good to go. If there are not any major problems with your ring, it will take about 15-20 minutes. If there are some issues, the timeline will be longer. Truly, it all just depends. In no time, you will have your pretty piece back on your finger. Woo!

Got a lot of buildup caked on your ring? You will want to clean it about every one to two weeks using our cleaning set or a DIY way. We will dive in on how to use our cleaning set a little later on.

DIY Ways to Clean Your Ring

If you don’t have any of our cleaning products, there are some simple DIY ways to clean your ring! A lot use common household items so there’s no need to go out and spend unnecessary money. Who doesn’t love to save some dough?

Simple materials to use include baking soda, salt, ammonia, and a linen cloth just to name a few. With these kinds of products, you can create different solutions and mixtures. Simply apply them to your ring and viola! It looks as good as new. Yay for clean jewelry!

So I can just use any type of cleaning brushes to scrub off buildup? Not so fast! Using harsh brushes can damage your ring if you scrub them. A toothbrush labeled “soft” would be the one to choose. You don’t want to mess up your ring do you? Safe care is the best care!

Using Our Products to Clean Your Ring

When you make an engagement ring and/or wedding band purchase from Love & Promise, you will receive one of our fabulous cleaning sets with your order. This includes the cleaning jar, cleaning solution, and a polishing cloth. Additionally, you can also purchase one of our cleaning pens.

Both of these products are essential to keep your ring looking as good as new!  All you have to do is follow as few simple steps and ta-da! Your ring will be looking so lovely!

How to Use L&P Cleaner

Prior to cleaning, you may notice that your morganite looks cloudy. Fear not though! Just like on a gloomy day, the clouds will part and the sun will shine (or in this case, your ring).

First, you will pour some of the concentrate from the packet into the container along with a little water. Don’t overdo it though! You only need to fill it up about halfway. From there, you will let your ring soak for a couple of minutes. In no time, most of the buildup will be gone!

Not only do you want your ring to soak, you will want the little brush that is included to soak too! You should leave the brush in the concentrate for no longer than 5 minutes. Why do I need to soak the brush? You want it to take in the concentrate as well as soften up the bristles. Once you let your ring soak up that good ‘ol concentrate, you will use your brush to get rid of that extra stuff that may be left over on your ring!

A good thing to remember when using the brush is to be super gentle! Scrubbing it harshly and excessively can ruin your ring and honestly, who wants that?

To dry off the concentrate from your ring, use the polishing cloth to pat it down. This needs to be done gently. You don’t want to scrub or scratch your ring using the cloth. Simply wrap your ring in the cloth and gently apply pressure with your fingers.

And just like that, your ring is clean! Easy enough right? The ring may not be in its original state from when you purchased it in terms of shininess, but it will certainly look better compared to the dirty state it was in before!

How to Use L&P Diamond Cleaning Pen

This tool is extremely easy to use! Our cleaning pen looks a lot like your typical mascara or lip gloss tube. The pen is also meant for quick fixes. Anything such as grease, soap, lotion, etc. can be removed using the cleaning pen. It’s as easy as one, two, three!

Twist off the top of the cleaning pen and tap excess solution off back into the tube. Then you’ll use the brush to gently wipe your ring. We recommend using soft touches when using this cleaning pen. Cleaning your ring this way will prevent any harm from coming to your ring.

Once you are satisfied, take your ring and just dip it into warm water (or extra solution if you have that from just using the cleaning kit). This will wash away any reminisce of grime and the cleaning pen solution. You will again use your cleaning cloth to dry off your ring. All done!

While you just read about how to use our fabulous products, you can now see them in action! Be sure to view our “How to Clean Your Engagement Ring” video on our YouTube channel to see how it’s done!
