Tungsten
or tungsten carbide is the most scratch-resistant metal known to man. It is much harder than, though similar in weight to, gold and platinum. Check out our Rosados Box collection of tungsten rings, including laser-etched designs that pay tribute to our US servicemen and women.
Cobalt
is a highly durable, scratch-resistant metal with a bright white hue. Resembling platinum, cobalt carries more heft on your finger as it is a bit heavier than other metals. Check out the Rosados Box collection of laser-etched and polished men’s bands:
Zirconium, or black zirconium
Unleash your inner rock star with this relatively lightweight, highly corrosion-resistant metal. Exposing zirconium to a high heat turns it black. Paired with rose gold, these bands make a striking rocker-chic statement.

Titanium
is a lighter but more crack-resistant metal than tungsten, and can take on a variety of hues depending on how the metal is processed. It also tends to be less expensive than tungsten. Check out this traditionally styled titanium band with a hammered satin/matte finish, in our Rosados Box line:
One key consideration when deciding whether to go with an alternative metal is that, unlike rings made of gold or platinum, a ring made from any of the above materials is not sizeable, due to the extreme hardness and brittle nature of these metals. This can make repairs a challenge. They also tend not to hold their investment value over time like gold or platinum do -- though in terms of their symbolic value, they are just as priceless.
How to choose what metal is right for you? Well, there is no wrong choice here. The best metal for you is the one that reflects your lifestyle, esthetics, and budget. See our entire collection of men’s rings, all 100% American crafted.
