Destination
If you’re planning on taking a vacation or visiting a dream destination, proposing there is an excellent opportunity for this once-in-a-lifetime memory. You can propose in front of a landmark, on the beach, or a favorite spot that you have there. Find that right moment to get down on one knee and pop that question! Since you both may be taking this trip on your own, ask somebody afterwards to take a pic of the both of you with the location of where you are in the background. If you’re lucky enough, someone might be willing to film your proposal. We have clients who have done this!
Something Sentimental
We love a good, sappy moment! Propose at the place where you guys met, fell in love, or where you asked them to be your girlfriend or boyfriend. Another great way to woo your significant other would be to recreate your first date! Did you go out to dinner? Head over to that same place, order the same food and drink, etc. Did you go somewhere special after that? Maybe that would be a good location to ask them to marry you. This proposal idea has a lot of sentiment behind it and is sure to make your significant other burst into tears, happy tears of course.
Scavenger Hunt
If you want to take your significant other on an unforgettable adventure, this is one way to do it! Have your partner embark on a scavenger hunt and leave thoughtful clues that lead up to your ideal proposal spot. Want to make this moment even more special? Have both of your friends and family be part of the clues along the way.
Write a Poem, Short Story, or Song
For our creative friends, writing something meaningful from the heart can be a memorable experience. A poem, short story, or song can tell your partner what you mean to them, how they knew you were the one, etc. Any of these can explain your journey together. You can either read it to them or have them read it while you wait for the right moment to drop down on one knee. How suave!
Scrapbooking Your Love Story
Collect and print out photos that highlight moments during your relationship. You both can flip through it together and once you make it to the end, you can pop the question or place a note at the end of the album that alludes to you asking them to be yours forever. Flipbooks have become popular over the years and are a creative and personal keepsake that can tell your love story or something completely different so they won’t expect what is about to happen. However you plan to do it, it will surely be a memorable moment! To get even more creative, hang photos of the two of you around the room and go through each one. Then when the moment feels right, go ahead and propose!
Who doesn’t love to watch a video? Create a montage of pics and videos that you have together. For an extra special touch, add their favorite song, musician, or “your song” to go along with the video. At the end of the video, have it say “will you marry me” or come up with a little speech before you ask them to marry you.
Get Your Furbaby Involved
Don’t forget about your furry companions! There are lots of ways that you can include your pet to pull off the “paw”fect proposal. You can include them in this special moment by tying the ring to their collar or something as creative as writing “will you marry my dad (or mom)” on a few tennis balls. After the proposal, you can take a pic of your pet with the engagement ring placed on the top of their nose or head to share the news with your loved ones.
Sporting Event
Last but not least, and one of the most popular choices, is proposing at a sporting event. Have a message displayed on the jumbotron or have the moment captured on the infamous kiss cam. These options are perfect if your significant other isn’t shy and loves to share with the world! If she/he is more bashful, we would suggest a more quiet and intimate option.
We hope these ideas help you feel less nervous and more inspired! Remember to keep up with all things Love & Promise by visiting our website, following us on our socials, and subscribing to our newsletter. Happy proposal planning Rosettes!
