Brief History: What Is a Spinel?
Before we hop in, let’s have a quick refresher on the spinel gemstone itself! Spinels rank an 8 on the Mohs scale and come in a unique ray of colors. These colors include: red, violet, yellow, green, pink, blue and black. Each color has a unique meaning and various properties, but we’ll get into those specifics soon!

Time for a little astrology sesh! Spinels hold a lot of unique and beneficial properties that can help you in life. To start, spinels are associated with the zodiac signs like Scorpio, Sagittarius, Taurus and Aries. This birthstone correlates with the element of air, and is associated with the first chakra, aka the root chakra. Each color of spinel is associated with a different chakra, but the thing that they all have in common is that they are associated with the root chakra. This is because this chakra is where your energy begins traveling upwards and helps you find the right start!
